Privacy Policy

Effective 25 July 2026 · Applies to the FieldSolve app for iOS and Android (bundle / package ID com.fxwindcall.ballisticSolver).

The short version

1. What we do not collect

FieldSolve contains no analytics framework, no crash- or performance-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no social-media SDK. It does not request the iOS advertising identifier and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because it does not track you across apps or websites.

We — the developer — receive no data from your use of the app. We cannot see your rifle profiles, your loads, your shot data, your locations, or how often you open the app. We operate no server that the app talks to.

2. What is stored on your device

FieldSolve is a working tool, so it saves your setup locally so it is there next time. This includes:

This data lives in your device's private app storage. It is not readable by other apps, and it is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is included in your device backup (iCloud or Android backup) only according to your own device backup settings, which are governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policy rather than ours.

3. What leaves your device

FieldSolve makes network requests only for the features below, and only when that feature is in use. No account identifier, device identifier, advertising ID, or profile data is attached to any of these requests.

Open-Meteo and Esri are independent companies and are not operated by us. Like any web service, they may log the IP address that a request comes from; we have no access to those logs. Their handling of that data is covered by their own policies: Open-Meteo terms and privacy and Esri privacy statement.

If you never turn on automatic atmosphere and never open the map, FieldSolve makes no internet requests at all. The solver itself is fully offline — every ballistic calculation runs on your device.

4. Bluetooth devices and your local network

FieldSolve talks to measuring equipment directly, without going through the internet:

Android requires location permission in order to scan for Bluetooth devices on some versions of the operating system. Where that is the case, the permission is used for the scan and nothing more.

5. Device permissions, and what each is for

Every one of these is used only for the stated feature, only while you are using it, and never for advertising or profiling. You can decline or later revoke any of them in your device settings; the affected feature simply stops working, and the rest of the app carries on.

6. Photos, video, and sharing

Videos you record are written to FieldSolve's private storage on your device. They are uploaded nowhere. Two things move them, and both require an explicit action from you: exporting a clip saves it to your photo library, and sharing a clip hands it to your device's standard share sheet, where you pick the destination. Once you share a file with another app or service, that recipient's privacy policy governs what happens next.

7. Loads received from another app

FieldSolve can accept a load handed over from a companion app — for example the Handload reloading log — through a link of the form fieldsolve://dope?…. The bullet and rifle details in that link are passed between the two apps on your own device and are used to build a profile and a range card. Nothing about the handover is transmitted off the device or reported to us.

8. Children

FieldSolve is a technical tool for adult shooters, hunters, and competitors. It is not directed at children, and it is not designed for or marketed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children — because, as described above, we do not collect information at all.

9. Keeping and deleting your data

Because your data is held only on your device, you are in full control of it. Profiles, loads, and videos can be deleted inside the app. Deleting FieldSolve removes all of its stored data from the device. There is no copy of it on our side to request, correct, export, or erase — we do not have one.

10. Your rights

Privacy laws including the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection over personal data a company holds about you. We hold none: FieldSolve creates no user account and transmits no personal data to us, so there is no record for us to disclose, amend, or delete. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not engage in targeted advertising. Where a request of yours concerns the third-party services in section 3, it should be directed to that provider.

11. Security

Your data is protected primarily by your device: FieldSolve's storage is sandboxed by iOS and Android, and it inherits your device passcode and disk encryption. Requests to Open-Meteo and Esri use HTTPS. Communication with a local target camera and with Bluetooth equipment stays on your own network or radio link, and is unencrypted because that is how the hardware works — treat it as you would any local device on your Wi-Fi.

12. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change with it. Material changes — for instance the addition of any new outside service — will be described here rather than made quietly.
