What FX Chrono Connect does with your data, which is very little.

THE SHORT VERSION
There is no account and no server holding your shooting data. Your strings, guns, ammo, target photos, clips and settings live on your phone and nowhere else.
We cannot see any of it, because none of it reaches us.
No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no crash reporting, no third-party SDK that does any of those.
The app makes two kinds of network request, both described in section 03. Neither one carries your shooting data.
01 · WHAT IS STORED, AND WHERE

On your phone, and only there.

Everything the app records is written to its own storage on your device: shot strings and velocities, the guns and ammo you describe, target photographs and the impacts you mark on them, video clips you record, weather you enter or fetch, and your settings.

Deleting the app removes all of it. Nothing survives anywhere else, because there is no elsewhere.

02 · PERMISSIONS

What each one is actually for.

BLUETOOTH REQUIRED
The only way the app can hear your chronograph. It is used for nothing else — not for locating you, and not for finding other devices.
CAMERA & MICROPHONE OPTIONAL
Only while you are recording a clip. Clips are written to your phone and are never uploaded. Every other part of the app works without this.
PHOTO LIBRARY OPTIONAL
Only when you pick a target photograph to measure a group from. The picture is read on the phone and stays there.
LOCATION OPTIONAL
Asked for once, and only if you tap to fill in the weather. What happens to it is section 03. There is no location history and no background tracking.
03 · THE NETWORK

The only two times the app goes online.

Capture, history, statistics, group measurement, video and export all work with the phone in flight mode. These are the exhaustive exceptions.

A · WEATHER, IF YOU ASK FOR IT

When you tap Fill from where I am, the app asks MET Norway what the air was doing where you were shooting.

Before anything leaves the phone your coordinates are snapped to a 0.02° grid — roughly two kilometres — and sent at two decimal places. That is coarser than the precision either app store classes as precise location.

NOT SENTYour velocities, strings, guns, ammo, photos or clips. No name, no account, no advertising or device identifier.

The request identifies the app itself with a contact address, which MET Norway's terms of service require of any client. Their own terms govern what they do with it: api.met.no/doc/TermsOfService. Weather data is licensed CC BY 4.0.

You never have to use this. Type the temperature, pressure and humidity in yourself and the app stays offline.

B · FIRMWARE FOR YOUR CHRONOGRAPH

The app checks exc.fi for the list of available chronograph firmware, and downloads a firmware file when you start an update.

This is an ordinary request for a file. No shooting data, account or identifier is attached to it. As with any web server, the request itself appears in routine server logs.

04 · WHAT IS NEVER COLLECTED

The list is short because it is all of it.

No account, name or email address. No advertising identifier or device identifier. No analytics or usage statistics. No crash reports. No location history. No contacts, no calendar, no health data. No third-party SDK that collects any of these.

Your data is not sold, rented, shared or used to build a profile — not as a policy choice that could quietly change, but because it is never in our hands to begin with.

05 · WHEN YOU SEND DATA OUT YOURSELF

Four things you can hand elsewhere.

Each of these happens only when you ask for it, and each hands a file or a payload to somewhere you choose:

Export all shots writes a CSV of every string.
Back up everything writes one file you can keep anywhere and restore on any phone.
Save with velocities writes a video file with the overlay burned in.
Send to FieldSolve hands the load to another app on the same phone.

Once a file has left the app, where it goes is between you and whatever you shared it with. This policy stops at the edge of the app.

06 · CHILDREN

FX Chrono Connect is a tool for adult shooting-sports use and is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, of any age.

07 · YOUR RIGHTS

You already hold everything.

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection over personal data a controller holds about you. We hold none of yours: there is no account, no server, and no copy of your data on our side.

Access and portability — your data is already in your hands. Export all shots and Back up everything give it to you in open formats.
Erasure — delete a string in the app, or delete the app. Both are immediate and complete.

There is no request to file, because there is nothing on our side to act on. If you believe that is wrong, write to us at the address below. You also have the right to complain to your national supervisory authority; in Finland that is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.

08 · CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top. Anything that materially changes what the app does with your data will also be called out in the app's release notes.
