IPSC Shot Timer is a microphone-based shot timer for practical pistol shooting (IPSC / USPSA). This page covers common questions.

Microphone won't detect shots

• Make sure you granted microphone permission. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → enable IPSC Shot Timer.
• Increase the sensitivity in the app settings if you're indoors or using suppressed firearms.
• Place the device close to the shooter, away from wind noise.

Can I use the app for dryfire?

Yes. Adjust the sensitivity so that a metallic click or sharp tap registers as a shot. Many users use a snap cap or empty chamber drill.

Why does the screen stay on?

The app keeps the screen awake during a string so the start beep doesn't get cut off and timing remains accurate. Lock the device manually to disable this.

Battery and audio

Continuous microphone use during a stage drains battery faster than typical app usage. Quit the app when you're not running drills.
