Do I need an account?
No. Handload works fully offline with no sign-up, no subscription, and no ads. Your data stays on your device.
How do I back up my data?
Profile → Backup & restore exports a standard
.sqlite file you can save anywhere. You can restore it on the same device or a
new one. Because nothing is stored on a server, this backup is the only copy — make one
before changing phones.
Which chronographs are supported?
Live Bluetooth capture works with the FX Pocket Pro. Any chronograph that exports a CSV — Garmin Xero, LabRadar, MagnetoSpeed and others — can be imported instead, so your velocity data is never locked to one device.
Do I have to type in every bullet, powder and primer?
No. The component forms include a built-in catalog of real bullets, powders, primers and brass — tap the catalog icon in a form to pick a component and have its details filled in. You can still enter anything by hand, and edit whatever the catalog fills in.
Can I use metric units?
Yes — Profile → Units switches velocity, distance, length and temperature between imperial and metric. Powder charge and bullet weight stay in grains, which is how load data is published worldwide.
What does "Range card in FieldSolve" do?
Handload is a logbook, not a ballistics solver. When a session has a muzzle velocity and its load has a bullet with a BC, that button hands those figures to the FieldSolve app on your device to generate a range card or DOPE. If FieldSolve isn't installed, Handload offers a link to it. Nothing is sent to us.
Why is the range-card button missing?
It only appears once the session has a muzzle velocity, and it needs the session's load to have a bullet with a ballistic coefficient. Add a chronograph reading (or type the velocities in), and set a BC on the bullet.
Something's wrong or missing — can you fix it?
Please write to info@exc.fi. If it's a bug, telling us which screen you were on and what you'd just done makes it much faster to track down.
Handload is a logbook and calculator. It does not provide or verify load data. Always cross-check every charge against a current published manual from the powder, bullet, or firearm manufacturer, start low and work up, and follow safe handloading practices.
